What or Who Defines YOU?
As I sat listening to our graduation speaker yesterday at HHS it struck me how people are always saying the correct things but are we applying them. One of the items I have heard the last few days is the question: what defines you?
Do you define yourself or do you let others define you?
Do you let your circumstances define you or do you let your reactions to the circumstances define you?
Do you define yourself by your successes or do you define yourself by your failures?
Do you define yourself by the positive influences in your life or do you define yourself by the negative influences in your life?
I could continue asking questions that cause you to think but my point is that you should should define yourself! Define yourself by the things that are important to you. Define yourself by the things you accomplish. Define yourself by your work habits. Define yourself by your commitment and your loyalty. Define yourself by the process and not the outcome.
I can almost guarantee that all of you will suffer some type of perceived setback in life. It is only a setback if you allow it to be a setback. Rather than a setback seize it as an opportunity to open new doors and to new achieve new things.
People will always label you --- people will always try to stifle your success --- people will always try to define you.
DO NOT ALLOW IT! YOU DEFINE YOURSELF!
