ProStar Fastpitch -- In April several of us with a vision of a new Select organization in the sport of softball met and laid out our plans. Out of respect for and a commitment to the players we already had we finished our summer as ProStar Generals and called it Year 0. During that 3 month period our staff worked as hard as possible for those young ladies and began outlining the foundation of our future. In mid-August we were able to convince two dozen young ladies to join the ground floor of ProStar Fastpitch in its first official year. Twelve weeks later we have taken that assemblage of bodies and turned it into a very competitive team of 14s and 16s. The 22 young ladies that finished the fall season with us have improved / have grown / and have become one. The 16s had an outstanding fall concluding with a 5th place finish in the USA Elite qualifier and an outstanding showing at Legacy. The 14s are still more of a work in progress as we are extremely young but they grew and picked up some key wins this fall including a co-championship in a rain shortened ASA event. I have used the hashtag #ProStarProud quite often this fall and I sincerely mean it. I am amazed how quickly our players / parents / coaches and supporters have become one. To quote Coach Hammontree: " I like this team ". I am excited about 2016 and beyond. The ProStar Fastpitch future is bright on and off the field. Thank you to all of our coaches and players and parents. I believe in you!
