My morning thought has to do with practice vs games. Quite honestly this group has been very good so far of buying in to what we are preaching. Usually I have already had someone ask why are we still practicing and everyone else has been playing two weeks? This normally happens in October and in late Feb/early March.
I know many of you have friends on teams that are already playing games and that is their preference but one of my pet peeves is that in ELITE travel sports we spend too much time playing and not enough practicing to improve our skills.
In college you will practice and train 2 to 3 times the amount of time you play the game. Why do so many want to play instead of practice? Playing is fun and where the glory happens --- practice is hard! Practice is the arena without fans / without glory / without a scoreboard! Practice is where you win by getting better --- winning in practice is harder to see! But practice is needed and practice is missing in many programs!
We have PRACTICE today----let us win the day!
