ProStar Fastpitch is one week away from beginning our preseason practice for the Spring / Summer 2016 Tournament schedule. The program had a very good fall and the players have spent the off-season doing optional practices / taking lessons / and going to camps. I feel the program has been blessed to be at this competitive point in less than 8 months. We owe that to the quality of our coaches / the talent of our players / and the support of our parents! One of the best things to happen is that I believe all of our 2017 graduates will have offers by summer even though none of them had a tremendous amount of recruiting interest before the fall.
With all of the above being said let me clarify exactly where we are with the teams at this point. When we started putting the teams together in August our goal was to carry 14 players on each team and to compete nationally. We have had a couple that decided our program was more than they wanted to sacrifice and a couple that we asked to move on because they did not fit our philosophy. We currently have 13 players on the 16under team and I feel extremely confident that this team can compete with anyone on our schedule. The 14under currently has 12 players and even though we were competitive in the fall I believe that we need at least one more quality pitcher to compete at the level we wish to compete. This team is also very young and is being built with a focus on being a nationally competive 14under in 2017.
So finally let me say that we plan on having our roster complete on January 18th. If there is anyone that is not satisfied with the coaching you are receiving / the college interest you are receiving / or your team is not competing at the level you wish and you are looking for something new and different in 2016 you must contact me ASAP!
